Understand your insurance plan

At Celgene, we know how hard it can be to understand your health insurance. Your Specialist can help answer your questions. We will work with your doctor’s office and your health insurance plan to get you started on your Celgene medicine.*

The cost of your Celgene medicine depends on your health insurance. If you do not have health insurance or enough coverage to pay for your Celgene medicine, call your Specialist at 1-800-931-8691.

Before you start any medicine, your doctor’s office may need to see if your health insurance will pay for it. This is called a benefits investigation. We can help your doctor’s office with this step. A benefits investigation will tell your doctor:

  • If your medicine is covered
  • What your medicine will cost you
  • If your health insurance must approve the medicine before you start. This is called precertification or a prior authorization

If your health insurance has denied coverage of the Celgene medicine your doctor has prescribed, we can help you and your doctor’s office file an appeal. An appeal will ask your health insurance to cover your Celgene medicine. During the appeals process, you may qualify for the Celgene Free Medication Program.

If you have Medicare, Medicaid, or other government-sponsored insurance, we can help you understand what your costs will be. We can also connect you with third-party organizations that may be able to help you pay for your Celgene medicine.

Yes, even if you don’t have health insurance or enough coverage to pay for your Celgene medicine, Celgene Patient Support® can help you. You may be eligible for the Celgene Free Medication Program. We may also be able to help you find insurance coverage or other programs for which you may qualify.

*Celgene Patient Support® is not insurance and does not influence or make any insurance decisions.
